  • my favorite book series … For real.

  • Damn…was hoping that you didn’t reveal who Roland was so that your readers would figure it out

  • did baffle me,i was going to check it out on the internet lol, cheers skeezer

  • Just mentioned SK in a query letter to an agent

  • I figured it out before I got the the pic with King’s name on it. I haven’t read the series, but there’s a short story (prequel, I think) in one of his collections. My son read all seven books in a month and loved them. Now the series is in my “to read” pile.

  • psst… I see you!

I didn’t think you had been posting!

  • I’ve always been fascinated with Gunslingers and Swordsman. Maybe because all the ones I read about were wondering loners accomplishing fantastic feats. I wrote a story about a gunslinger(actually, a few) sometime ago: “Big Iron in Los Roches” It’s inspired by the song “Big Iron by Marty Robbins”.

I haven’t forgotten the world of “Los Roches” because I have a few more characters roamin’ around doing devilish things to each other, and I’ll most likely have another part up on my next birthday.

  • Roland is one of my future ex-husbands.

    *dreamy sigh*

Oh – Stephen King is on my list, too.

  • RYC: Thank you!
You know, I can never find enough time to read all the books I want–people are always recommending something new!

I saw Stephen King at Harvard Square about 4 days ago. Are you related to him by chance? I like the Roland series quite a bit. Wish I could somehow get an autographed boxed copy. Are you in NYC?

  • @Barbelo -

Hmm.. Would Roland make a good mate? Stephen King might if you could ever find a way to get him to do anything but write. People have to have more than one life to read all of his stuff and get to other books or things… Our boy is graying I see.

  • @mejicojohn -

This is Stephen King’s “Dark Tower” series which began with Gunslinger. There are many books in the series, many of them thick. Good though.

  • LOL – I’ve collected almost all of his books except for about 3 of them – in their hardback editions.  I’ve slogged my way through all of them.  Hubby wants to visit Maine in the next year or so – he figures I’ll get arrested for stalking within the first day and he can enjoy the rest of the vacation on his own.

Ever visited Bett’s Books website?  Good stuff.  I’d love to go in person some day.  I think the website is http://www.bettsbooks.com, but I could be wrong.

Yeah – he’s gray, poor guy.  I think the accident aged him a bit

  • @tongfengdemao -

I never got through them either, though I believe it would be a great read. He’s a great American writer of our age. Celebrated and historically significant I think.

  • @EminemsRevenge -

Haven’t figured out quite what that means, however, I should say to others here…. READ EMINEM’S REVENGE! HE’S MASTERFUL AND WILL SURPRISE YOU QUITE A BIT. TRULY GOOD!

  • @skeezer -

YAY!! Stephen King is outstanding, no doubt!

  • @angi1972 -

Yeah, posting. Still doing this on short window timewise. Wish I could be faithful to every person on my list. The Xanga community is something I care about immensely!

  • @jesusthepsychic -

No. But I’m a few hours from NYC. I’m thinking of going up there for some wild drug stories to tell some folks back here in PA, and maybe a few paint cans emptied just for the spirit of it all. One of my friends frequents there often and has a gun, so you could possibly be hearing about strange shootouts near bagel shops soon. ‘Cuz goddamit it all! I just wanted my cream cheese plain!
