Wouldn’t you love a home like this? I sure would.
[For the discussion, I add here some structures et al from Mali. I believe these are Dogon (people).]

So… I’ve scoured pics from Mali and haven’t seen the one in the first depiction. Anyway, your guess is
as good as mine.

Where are these houses? They’re amazing!!!!!
come back as an ant in your next life and your there,,, hahahahahahaha
i saw some old cliff houses in a magazine somewhere in the state of coahuila,,, that was a long time ago tho,,, and i forget where exactly,,, wish i could locate them,,, now that ive got airforce1 i could pay them a visit,,,, airforce1 is fully permited for traveling around mexico.
im gonna somehow get down one of these days and get some pics of some pyramids,,,, and monkeys,,, i want pics of monkeys,,, dont want to see no stinking pics of monkeys,,, i want to take pics of monkeys,,, and not in the zoo.
i wonder about the insulation on these things,,, they actually look hot to me,,,
dude, where is this, I would love to live in a house like that
awesome! i dont know where that’s at
very neat. thanks for visiting.
@JustinBurke - I got it from AnthonyNY site and he said he dosen’t know. Think I’ve seen that sort of thing in Africa. Think Mali perhaps.
@mejicojohn - Not so sure about the heat thing. I can’t remeber it being so hot in our walk-in basement when I was a kid. Concrete. I have been working on a story about the Citadel in Iran next to the desert. They had ventilation slats that kept it all cool. Hmm
yea,, a basement is cool because its underground,,, also warmer in the winter,,, rock,,, i assume is like concrete,,, that looked like rock,,,
my apt is like all houses in mexico,,, cement or cinderblock,,, mostly cinderblock i guess since its lighter and easier to work with,,, (because its lighter) whatever the bulk of the temp is during the day,, or nite in winters case,,, the block retains and transmits to the inside,,, i can sit here at my desk and feel the wall beside me and it feels like a heater in the summer,,, feels like the inside of an icebox in the winter.
they claim they dont make wooden houses here because they dont last long ,,,, hahahahahaha,,, truth is wood is expensive,,, and altho i have carried over a few sheets of plywood from the other side,,, ive heard theres a stiff tax on wood if you try to carry too much,,, i dunno,,, ive never been stopped with wood. cement block on the other hand is less than half here what you would pay for it,,, about 50 cents a block,,, so dont take much to throw up a house,,,, youll pay for it in comfort tho,,, or lack of it,,, and there aint no way to insulate it.
plenty of shade on it in the summer helps,,, hahahaha,, something i dont have here,,, hidalgogringo,,, and my other house have tin roofs,,, which get hot and cold,,, but dont retain it like concrete does.
at any rate,,, yea,, id like to have one of those,,, couldnt be any worse than where i am,,, and higher up eliminates mosquitos,,,, im just saying,,,, those things will catch every ounce of sun that happens to be in the area,,,
do you know what they are? they look like rock,,,, but they look like cement too…..
they are awful tall and narrow not to have an outside stair,,,, that leads me to believe they are cement.
well,, i backed up and read the rest of your replies,,, hahahahahaha,,, your as in the dark as i am,,,, hahahahahahaha
Ha. Seatlle is the home to behemoth titanitc coporate building purely tribute to Starbucks. I grew up knowing it.
Is that a home or a fancy bird nest?
Hopi hobbit holes
Only problems with these are they’re too close to each other
Air-conditioning would be a deal breaker.
Crazy indeed! Is the first pic ultra small? I guess I just can’t imagine a house like that, haha.
Dang, sorry to mess up the comment to eprop ratio but I didn’t even reply to your comment, haha. I was saying that I was blown away because the girls who won Miss Hawaii and Miss Hawaii USA were sisters. Both were Reef’s cousins so that is how I got so many hookups!!! And how did you talk to ben kingsley??
WOW amazing…i love different cultures,im going to put this on my list of places to go,hope you are well x
@Jono2002 - I was sitting on a bench in the park unknowingly with Ben Kingsley and his daughter. When she left he started to chat with me. A couple of days later he headlined the Boston Independant Film Festival at the Davis Square Sommerville Theatre. I didn’t know about that until I went to Davis to get coffee. Didn’t have the cash on me to go to his event. He has two or three films which are current, but introduced his independant film in that theatre. Something about Siberia I believe.
Give my congratulations to Reef. How cool is that?
i think at one of the openings there are people. I would say that they are not small. I also believe that they are not built but made of limestone which is easy to carve out. Still not so sure that they are from Mali. All of the other pictures depict clay structures. Anyone else want to guess?
i dig the sand !
Why yes! I’ve always wanted to live inside a phallic symbol (1st picture). And dog gone it, those Dogon people sure sound like DONG, another word for a phallic symbol! Well, if the old lady could live in a shoe, I’m sure I could find it in my crotch to live in a penis.
@DumbUglyAndBroke - so funny… (Still wonder if the pic is Dogon though.)
