  • I had no idea goldfish lived to be twelve… I must be a serious gold fish killer because they only last a few years in our house. lol

  • Happy hour no longer worked for me, sigh, by the time I gave it all up.  It was all crying in my vino.

  • Hmm, well the question of the day specifically asked for one thing.

  • ryc, doc put me on acyclovir 200 mg a day and it worked.  Still not a high-energy person but not incapacitated either.  If you are troubled by poor sleep I can give you the list of some supplements that really did work for me.

  • I’m not sure quite what it is but … My sister’s fish died about an hour ago and i’ve come to your site only to find a cartoon strip involving a dead fish.

    Scary!

  • The local newspapers don’t carry “Shoe” anymore. I believe a son took over after the previous creator died. I think that is when we lost this fantastic comic strip. It’s a favorite of mine, and features and old newspaper guy.

Angi, do your fish prefer flushing? Surprised me about the 12 yr. thing to. Doubt it myself, as a rule anyway.

bsb is referring to actions for Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, which we have both had our bouts with, it seems. Any info is appreciated. What category is acyclovir? Many doctors like to give anti depressants. I recently started one, though I haven’t been depressed. It dosen’t seem to hurt me, so I plan to try it awhile. I can see if a person who is troubled with cfs is also depressed, that it might have efficacy. However, I strongly assert that they are two separate conditions. My sleep was horrible for several years running. However, I started using the supplement sublingual melatonin and avoiding caffeine after mid-day. Now I nearly always get to sleep okay. However the quality of my sleep is subpar, and I don’t experience good restoration. Recently, I started to experience remembering dreaming for the first time in years. that might possibly be the result of a person gifted in moving prayer laying hands on me. Interestingly, I believe that’s the case. Still have cfs though.

Ha! WednesdayWannaBe, maybe it has someting to do with my name as JesusthePsychic!

  • Acyclovir is an anti-viral.  If your cfids is caused by one of the hv stealth viruses (as mine was) it will likely help.  You may have to talk your doc into it.  Talk to a doc who specializes in autoimmune disorders.  If not acyclovir, then repeated cycles of doxycycline have also been used with some success.  Melatonin is precisely the thing that helps the best with quality of sleep — but I found it only worked every other night.  It doesn’t work well if you take it every night.  5-htp worked very well, two 50 mg caps at night, and valerian as well, both about an hour before sleep.  Mornings I would take C500, E400, CoQ10 (100, the q-sorb type, see puritans pride).  At noon a multi, then the same late afternoon minus the multi.  5htp will give you wild dreams.  Valerian helps with general drowsiness.  I was also on Paxil and clonazepam, a slow-acting, extended release version of xanax.  But the acyclovir had me up and running around in a week or two.

  • I haven’t found my pot of gold yet …. unless that was having extra money on my pay check this week!

No, you haven’t subscribed to my xanga yet.

Newcastle is on the north-East of england. If you look at my photo’s there’s some pictures on Newcastle like the Millenium Bridge, the Baltic Art Gallery and the Sage. I don’t have any of the Angel of the North - one of the most famous of the north east landmarks

  • Enemies of the Cross by Charles Spurgeon

    CROSS -ENEMIES OF

Mouths that spit on Jesus shall give me no kisses. Those who hate the doctrine of the
atonement hate my life and soul, and I desire not their esteem. 1859.503

This is the old story of speculation against dogmatism. It is always the way: the
adversaries of the cross of Christ assert nothing, but they question everything. 2016.182

The cross rejected is the clearest proof of the heart depraved. 2022.257

Paul saw people sinking toward hell and did not talk of refining them, but of saving them from the wrath to come. He laid aside his preferences to prevent prejudice; He submitted his will in things indifferent, and if humankind would but recieve the Gospel, he raised no questions about forms or ceremonies. Are we possessed with the same all-absorbing desire? Jesus died for sinners, can’t we live for them?
    -C.H. Spurgeon

“While carnal men say “seeing is believing,” we assure them that to us “believing is seeing.”
    -C.H. Spurgeon
