  •  John McCain wants to increase the number of U.S. soldiers in Iraq by a minimum of 25,000. Will one of them be YOU?

    NEW HOBBY?

Why not try knitting or sewing?

I remember in the 6th grade during the winter when no one was all that crazy about going outside when inclimate weather set in. Most of the girls in the class seemed to be involved in 4-H. Many of them worked on knitting projects. My sister was one of them. Before the winter was over those girls had most of the guys working on basic knitting projects. Gotta say – it was fun. (We had masculine guys, too)

I remember in college one of the coolest (and smartest) of the girls, frequently wore skirts she had sewn. They weren’t simple or the easiest ones either, but boutique caliber. I like style, and that made an indelible impression on me. I’ll inherit mom’s antique sewing machine someday. It would be nice to put something together from a few basic patterns.

Tony Gwinn, of the San Diego Padres and Cal Ripkin of the Baltimore Orioles, were the sole winners inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame. Interestingly, these two guys spent their entire careers with one ballclub each. Very unusual these days. Still looking for Jack Morris to get in. Jim Rice should definately be there. Next year is his last year of eligibility.

  • well, it won’t be me, but if they reinstate the draft a lot of my kids might.  i fear for us all.

  • Alright… what was going on in your head. lol Soldiers, knitting, sewing and sports obviously. lol A very interesting mix. If you ever do sew something, They make some very nice men’s patterens, I highly recomend trying one of those… You in a baby doll… Well that yould be intresting too. ;-b

Have a great day Ralph. Ang

  • Thanks for your comment. Sorry I haven’t been around in a while; I’m still trying a way to balance xanga and the two jobs so I’m trying to find a routine and stick with it. That’s interesting about knitting. I’ve been thinking about learning how to do it.

  • I was writing the same thing too when I read that the US wanted more troops in Iraq.  HOnestly, I think Bush has nuts in his head because he spent 400 Billion on Iraq which could have been used to cut tax even further or find a cure for certain illnesses or find 10 starving countries.  What can I say…

  • FORGOT to put my idea of a fair & equable draft on today’s post  DRAFT every registered Republican from 18-80 since they’re always so gungho for war

  • Actually if you didn’t know, most those in the military are republican.  Let’s not forget one thing.  Our country was attacked by people who wish to overthrow America.  There is nothing they would love more then to turn America into another Beruit or Lebenon where whenevr you go out to eat you do not know if a suicide bomber is going to run in and blow himself up.  I mean I understand no one wants to go to war or for their children to go to war.  But’s let’s not be so self centered that we forget the thousands that died such horrible deaths all in the name of “Allah is Great.”  America did nothing to deserve these things.

    They attacked us first.

  • Sewing and knitting are cool!!! I used to do that back in the day but did horrible, haha. You have to model for us what you make on your mom’s antique sewing machine! All my clothes growing up was made by my mom and grandma, hardcore. Anyways, happy new year. I am working on an update so maybe sunday it will be done, haha. Take care and Aloha!

  • Jordan – I’m probably going to make one of those baby doll ouitfits… YOU model it (not me!).

Robert – Are you talking to me, or to Eminem’sRevenge? Though liberal, I am not a pacifist per se. I do believe in “Blessed are the Peacemakers, For They Shall See God”, though. Talk to ER, being Jewish, maybe he does not come from exactly the position you expect. Also, if you are reasonable, and not reactionary (so far, you seem reasonable to me), he is comfortable with some people of faith it seems.

  • You should definitely knit. Knitting is… the sh*t?

I didn’t intend to go there, but I did, and there I stay.
